I was quoted recently in an MSN Money article about gifts not to give someone. The article is geared toward the holidays, but I still think it’s good info for no matter when you give a gift. I offer some tips on what to give and not give friends and family members. Check it out if you get a chance.

I was asked to talk about my writing schedule recently, which I have to say is one of the most common questions I get. I think if you work in the corporate world, you really can’t imagine what it’s like to hop down the hall to your office and get right to work. But that’s what writers do.

I gave a pretty detailed account of my daily writing schedule, which is probably more information than any of you want to know about me! Christian at Smart Boy Designs was kind enough to interview me for his blog, and it was such a fun interview. He’s all about inspiration and being positive, and I really enjoyed answering his questions. The kind folks that read his blog had nice things to say, too. I’m quoted in a new Happen Magazine article (by Match.com) that talks about “Struggling to Stand Out Online.” This is something I did personally when I was online dating. At the time, I really did not know what I should do when it came to writing my profile. What should I include? I didn’t want it to sound too cliche or weird, you know?

If any of you have never tried to write a profile, it’s tough going at first. You want to “sell” yourself without sounding like a moron. So one thing I did was take a look at some of the other profiles women had up on the site. After all, the guys that would be contacting me would also see these other profiles. They were my “competition,” if you could call it that, but I also wanted to learn from them.

I noticed that some of the women had fun profiles that made me want to get to know them better. These were profiles that would probably get a lot of emails from the guys out there. So I looked to see what they were doing right, and tried to apply that approach to my own profile.

So I’m glad Match is running an article like this that will give you some clues as to how to make it work for you as well. Good luck!

Just got done taking part in a “twitterview” which is an interview conducted over Twitter. Man, it was so fun. Very difficult to trim those answers down to 140 lousy characters! I honestly have to say, I think I sounded like a dork. Then again, don’t I always?

You have to admit tho, that the idea of a Twitterview is totally awesome. I had never heard of that before. So clever and un-boring. Is “un-boring” a word? I’m making it a word. Let’s make it the word for the day. Try to use it in a sentence, like, “I am going to make an un-boring dinner tonite”

And hopefully…. I will.
