Teal Crocheted Afghan (Part 2)

Back to afghan making! I finished up the flowers on the teal afghan project.

First, I had planned to do flowers in every corner like the original pattern had:

But then I saw how much my dog like to pull and scratch and enjoy the afghan:

and I knew if I put flowers everywhere I was supposed to the dog would either scratch the flowers apart or not want to use the afghan. And you know what? I want everyone in the family to use it, even the dog. I want every living thing to feel comfortable in our home.

So instead, I put the flowers here and there around the parameter.

I may add a few in the middle, depending on how everyone uses it. For now, though, I’ll leave the flowers at the edge.

  1. I am so glad to see that at least one member of the family seems to love it! It looks great Cherie!

The most important member of the family for sure! LOL!

  2. I love that thought – that every living thing should feel comfortable in its home. I type this as one of our little poodle mix dogs rests snuggles up behind me on my office chair :D . Dusty is definitely very comfy!

Clever solution to the issue; and I don’t think it takes away from the design at all because of the dark teal base.

Glad you liked that thought, Eileen. After all, what would our home if our pets, family, kids, and visitors weren’t comfy? I thought the same thing about the teal. Since it’s darker, you don’t notice the “missing” flowers as much.

  4. I’m with you. As long as no one eats the afghan, he/she/they should be able to use it and enjoy it. That’s what it is made for, right?

    LOL – yes, Tammy! Exactly!
