Aw, Lewis, thank you so much! What a very nice thing to say. I'm pretty much a lurker too on blogs, so I totally understand when you just come to read. That makes it even more special that you commented (and so nicely!) Makes my day.

Hey Cherie--

I am new to blogging, but have been lurking/looking at your stuff for some time and recently hooked to your RSS. Since I am new, I am looking around at all kinds of blogs, and I don't RSS to many. But yours was so calm and helpful that I kept coming back. That's something to think about. I don't have a lot of writer-friends, but some of them are like your article and the person you're describing above.

Listen, don't be discouraged. I decided to come out of lurking, on your site, to tell you. Hang in there and don't get discouraged. You're a great writer and I appreciate your work. I'll try to kick in a little more on the comments, rather than just read.

Again, my comment may not cancel out the other, but surely more people who are coming to your site, here, will come forward and echo my comments.

In the meantime, keep up the good work!

Interesting article Cherie. As a fellow blogger in the field of sportsmanship, and a Dubliner living in London, may I offer a verse from a poem that is probably* written by an American and may help you to keep your focus:

“For When the One Great Scorer
comes to write against your name,
He writes – not that you Won or Lost
but How You Played the Game.”
