All About Scarves

In the last few months, I’ve discovered something I never knew: I love making scarves! I started a few of them before Christmas for some friends and family. I used eyelash yarn and loved working with it. Lately, I’ve been making some scarves for a homeless shelter in the area and also for my Etsy store. I like working on them because they are easy to do, I can make up my own pattern, I can watch TV while I crochet away, and can change up the colors so the projects always stay interesting.

Here are a few of them I’ve worked on recently:

I made a bunch of scarves in really fun, female colors that I will take to the homeless shelter, and when I showed my husband he thought I should add a few more “male” type colors in the mix. He was right! I was having such a fun time making scarves in pink and turquoise that I never thought that a guy probably wouldn’t be keen on wearing them. So with my hubby’s help I picked out the more “manly” yarn you see in the first two pictures.

The third picture shows a really fun variegated skein of yarn that I enjoyed working with. The colors made this project a breeze. Have you ever worked on something like this where the yarn just feels so good in your hand that it’s a pleasure to do? Crocheters and knitters know what I’m talking about here! The last picture is a fun scarf I did with turquoise/teals/yellows, and as I was finishing I realized I had some fuzzy yarn of the same colors. I added this to the border.

What are you working on these days?

Lovely – especially the one with the eyelash yarn fringe. Aren’t you glad scarves are back in style?!
