Guest Post at Inspired Pen

My wonderful writer friend Tel Asiado asked me to do a guest post on her blog. She wanted my thoughts on being a working writer, and what inspired and drove me to continue in my field. That’s a tall order! But I’m glad Tel is doing this series because there are so many different writers in the world, it’s great to see where we all come from and what we write. We have so many choices.

My post covered my thoughts on the various things I write: poetry, nonfiction, and fiction. Poetry is my first love and the thing that I really pour my emotions into. It’s a healthy outlet. I tend not to publish every piece I write, only when it makes sense and when I think others might enjoy it. The nonfiction I write is all about paying the bills! I write articles and books on various subjects, my main areas being the dating world, diabetes, freelance writing, entertainment, budget saving ideas, and home and living.

The latest thing I’m doing is fiction, which I’ve done in the past but never really published. I talk about each of these over at my post, “On Being a Working Writer.” Check it out!

What I’m thinking, Cherie? You’re awesome! I just got a message from FB about this, got to your site pronto, and lady, it’s past midnight where I am! ;)

Love your website and will be visiting again, and again, now on.

    Tel,

You have made my day with this comment! I think you’re pretty awesome too! (I just caught a peek of how many articles you have up at Suite and I feel like such a slacker compared to you!) Thank you for being so encouraging and wonderful and supportive towards other writers.
