I’ve been with Suite101 almost three years now, and have written in many different sections. I’m currently the Freelance Writing Feature Writer, which means I cover all the subjects related to that subject. I’ve been a freelancer for many years now, and enjoy my work immensely. Sometimes? It’s also frustrating! But I wouldn’t trade it; I’m having too much fun.

My editor at Suite, Julie Burtinshaw, just gave a video interview about the writing process, online publishing, and being an author. Julie is an amazing editor, and I can’t say enough about how much I’ve learned from her. I know writers sometimes fear the editing process, but as Julie mentions in the following interview, editing should be a collaborative event.

Julie is also an author, and has penned Dead Reckoning (Discoveries in Palaeontology), The Perfect Cut, The Freedom of Jenny, Romantic Ghost Stories, and Adrift. I’m awed by her output!  As you saw on the video, Julie has several speaking engagements lined up for her books and knowledge in online publishing.  I especially liked her advice that writers write everyday whether they have something to say or not.  Very true!
