I, too, have bangs, but not all the way across, though I've tried them that way. Your humorous experience reminded me of my own worst-bangs event, only my mother was the culprit. The day before my 4th grade school pictures, she cut my hair short, cut bangs, and waved them in from the top and outward at the bottom like backward parentheses. I didn't realize just how bad they looked until we got my pictures back. After that, I didn't let mom touch my bangs! Fortunately, hair grows out fairly quickly.
