New Brett Favre Commercial
I mentioned this yesterday on the EveryJoe blog, but I wanted to drop a note here as well. I was busily crafting yesterday, and suddenly there was a new Brett Favre commercial. Have you seen it? If not, here is the commercial, with a few outtakes first.
It’s good to see Favre has a sense of humor, doesn’t it? Of course, we always knew he had a great sense of humor. We didn’t know he had this kind of sense of humor when it came to himself.
People have a lot of opinions about Favre moving to Minnesota. I say, if we didn’t want him (and the Packers clearly didn’t) they let him play. It doesn’t affect my team. If we lose to Minnesota this year it’s our fault, not his. He was an awesome player for a lot of years for us. His records (and legacy) will stand up for years. Five years from now, people will remember the records (and the sense of humor) and all the ins and outs of ugliness of his departure (on both his side and that of the Packers) will be forgotten. That’s human nature.
I’m a dating writer, after all. To me, this is just like moving on from a breakup. I always advise daters to wish your ex the best, mean it, and move on. Take the lessons the relationship gave you, and move on to the next situation.
To that end, are we ready for some football?
