Email Shouting Gets Woman Canned

I have a lot of pet peeves about email. I used to work for one company that encouraged people to send large group emails, and to include the previous message each time someone responded. Think about that. So you’d eventually get one huge email that went on for 60 miles while everyone chimed in their two cents. The funniest part about all this? We all sat within a few feet from each other. (In other words, there was no reason to email at all.)

Email definitely has its place. But sometimes, it’s better to let your fingers do something else beside plunk away at the keyboard. Take this case, for example, where a woman actually got fired for sending too many emails in all caps. She was also highlighting some of her words with red. I’m sure it was annoying, but to fire her over it?
Writing in all caps is bad all the way around. I advise people not to do when sending an email to an online match. Can you imagine getting a first email from someone who wants to go out with you and the whole thing is in caps? I’ve rec’d quite a few of those… ugh.
